The CNRS Alumni network platform

CNRS is launching its network dedicated to scientists and research support staff: CNRS Alumni. The aim is to unite CNRS researchers, engineers and staff in a dynamic, international community.

The Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) is taking a new step by launching its alumni network. Initially aimed at its seconded staff, i.e. around 3,000 to 4,000 people, this project aims to eventually include all former researchers, engineers and administrative staff of the CNRS. In this way, it will form an extended scientific community connected throughout the world.

A network to strengthen professional links

The CNRS is a key player in fundamental research worldwide. It is the only French organisation active in all scientific disciplines. This diversity enables it to cross-fertilise expertise and mobilise multidisciplinary approaches to gain a better understanding of major contemporary issues. In collaboration with public and socio-economic players, CNRS places science at the service of sustainable progress for the benefit of society as a whole.

With more than 33,000 active researchers worldwide, the CNRS wishes to use this network as a forum for exchange and collaboration. Above all, it wishes to encourage professional development and the circulation of knowledge. The platform will highlight career opportunities and offer themed discussion groups to facilitate exchanges around shared projects, disciplines or experiences.

High-performance tools for an active community

To ensure a dynamic community, the platform offers advanced functionalities. A branded mobile application will keep members connected from anywhere in the world. A newsletter and emailing service will ensure the regular distribution of scientific news, events and networking opportunities. It will also feature the network’s main activities, as well as all the latest news about the network and its members.

An approach to support members’ careers

At the heart of the CNRS Alumni network, mutual support and career guidance are central. Members benefit from a forum for sharing experiences, providing mutual support and developing new opportunities. At the same time, tools such as job adverts, discussion forums and professional events help to enrich each member’s career path. This will also help to consolidate the feeling of belonging to a committed and supportive community.
