Why is a mentoring service enjoyable and relavant for an alumni community?

Mentor: n.m. a person dedicated in being your wise advisor.

The term comes from Greek mythology. It’s when Ulysses leaves for the Troye war, that his son’s education is ensured by a friend named “Mentor”. This old man will provide Télémaque with all his knowledge and skills by becoming his tutor.
More and more trendy those passed years, the mentoring is a professional and time lasting support to one person by another who is often more experimented. The aim is to receive a tailored-made assistance to develop and strengthen your career ambitions.  The creation of a mentoring service leads toward very benefits ends.
Indeed, being a mentor is to give to oneself the opportunity to open out by sharing with the others its own professional and personal experiences in order to better lead the mentored in his choices. On the other hand, being mentored allows to being supported and reassured by the expert look of one that has already succeeded. This is why this type of exchanges is strategic; mixing passed experiences and brand-new skills generate new profitable intergenerational discussions. Step by step, a real kind and comforting relation is established. Digital version of a house-coaching, the mentoring experience allows a tailored-made support; answers are targeted, contact list is adapted to your professional field and meetings are easier and multiplied.
The purpose is then clear: it is about making exchanges easier by selecting directly the people we connect with so we can provide the right answers to your precise questions. Mentoring can be used in various ways; we say “reverse mentoring” when the new generation enlights former employees about new market trends and tools. However, we talk about “peer mentoring” when people -at more or less the same skill level- are gathered up to talk and debate about one topic.
New kind of education introduced by the 2.0 networks, the mentoring will ease the sharing and the transmission of knowledges. AlumnForce has grabbed the opportunity and worked on the creation of a new tool exclusively dedicated to this new unique and individual appreciated service.
